Isaac Israels (?) Watercolor Painting of a Standing & Reading Lady.
Here we have a mysterious watercolor...
We acquired it AGES ago at a small local auction here in The Netherlands and it is signed "I. Israels" although we doubt that it is indeed a true Israels.
It is a pencil drawing that has been colored in more or less pastel watercolors.
The style is consistent with Israels other works with these media (see example at the bottom of this page).

It measures some 44 x 58 cm or 17.3 x 22.8 inches.
It is currently framed in a simple glazed frame (looks to be time-original) but we would prefer to ship it without the frame to avoid damages in transit.
For years we have been accumulating works of art, decorative items and other collectibles. As it is time for a big clean-up, the "Israels" also has to go and we are cordially inviting offers on this interesting piece.
You can of course have this painting examined by an expert of your choice but should he/she designate it to be a true Israels, the price will be accordingly (US$ 75.000 and up).
For the time being, un-expertized, as-is where-is with ABSOLUTELY no warranties implied, we will entertain offers in the region of Euro 2.500.
OFFERS INVITED.
